I’ve had enough of it. Ninnying fatuous self-important morons who demand that everyone else make sacrifices in the name of mother earth while they zoom around in CO2 belching private jets and lavish themselves in heated swimming pools are hypocrites but perhaps we should be grateful that their frothing absurdities are causing the man-made global warming cult to lose whatever credibility it has left. Last week, singer Sheryl Crow demanded that we all use one square of toilet paper per bathroom visit to help save the planet. Shortly after these ridiculous comments, the Smoking Gun website uncovered documents showing Crow’s touring requirements, which include three tractor trailers, four buses and six cars. I don’t even drive a car, so to be lectured about what I can and can’t do after I take a shit is a bit rich coming from someone whose “carbon footprint” is bigger than King Kong’s treads.

VILLIERS-LE-BEL, France (AP) - French officials point to a host of causes—poverty, unemployment, the influence of criminal gangs—for riots that erupted this week.
But there’s one taboo issue that officially colorblind France has been unable to confront: race.
The violence, like riots that spread nationwide for three weeks in exposed how parts of France have divided along color lines, with blacks and Arabs trapped in the most disadvantaged neighborhoods—like Villiers-le-Bel, in the northern suburbs of Paris, where gangs attacked police and burned cars and buildings this week.
“Among the rioters, the very large majority come from immigrant backgrounds,” said Douhane Mohamed, a police commander. “Why? We mustn’t kid ourselves: there is a direct link between urban violence and ghettos, and the majority of people with immigrant roots live in ghettos.”

Of the 109 cocaine dealers sent to prison in Wichita’s federal court in the last three years, 81 were black, seven were white. And six of those white dealers were not even from Kansas; they were arrested while traveling through Kansas with drugs.
Black dealers also tend to face harsher penalties than white dealers. The reason: Black dealers usually sell crack - a cheap, smokable derivative of powder cocaine - while white dealers sell the powder. Federal sentencing guidelines are much, much tougher for crack.

WASHINGTON - Like a ticking time bomb, the national debt is an explosion waiting to happen. It’s expanding by about $1.4 billion a day — or nearly $1 million a minute.
What’s that mean to you?
It means almost $30,000 in debt for each man, woman, child and infant in the United States.
Even if you’ve escaped the recent housing and credit crunches and are coping with rising fuel prices, you may still be headed for economic misery, along with the rest of the country. That’s because the government is fast straining resources needed to meet interest payments on the national debt, which stands at a mind-numbing $9.13 trillion.
And like homeowners who took out adjustable-rate mortgages, the government faces the prospect of seeing this debt — now at relatively low interest rates — rolling over to higher rates, multiplying the financial pain.
