A German court on Monday jailed the lawyer of a convicted Holocaust denier for calling the Nazis’ World War II slaughter of European Jews “the biggest lie in world history.”

Judges in the western city of Mannheim sentenced lawyer Sylvia Stolz to three and a half years in prison on charges that include inciting racial hatred, and barred her from practicing law for five years, a court spokeswoman said.

Stolz made the remarks in 2006 while representing “historian” Ernst Zündel, who was handed a five-year prison term in Germany last February for repeatedly disputing the Holocaust as a historical fact.

The 44-year-old also signed a motion during Zündel’s trial with “Heil Hitler” and shouted that the lay judges deserved the death penalty for “offering succour to the enemy” — leading the court to dismiss her.

But Stolz refused to leave Zündel, with whom she has also been romantically linked for several years, and had to be forcibly carried out of the courtroom.

She was immediately taken into custody after Monday’s verdict to avert further outbursts.

It has been more than 40 years since Tim Carbin walked the length of Oak Lane, the Bradford backstreet of his boyhood. Then, when he lived with his grandmother Florence Pawson, a matriarch within the community, his task after school was to run errands.

Down to Foster’s, the baker’s, for a loaf of bread and a pound of bacon from Donald Gilbank the butcher. “And mind it isn’t too fatty,” Florence would tell him.

Mr Carbin, then 13, knew all the local storekeepers by name, just as he knew the families in the surrounding terraces.

Yesterday, outside number 95A, his grandmother’s former home, Mr Carbin gazed in bewilderment as he scanned his old haunt.

Not surprisingly, the stores of his youth had gone: such has been the change in our shopping habits over the decades that they have given way to supermarkets and fast-food outlets.

FACT: Instead of supporting a healthy expression of religion in the public square, Mike Huckabee has used his evangelical Protestant faith as a wedge to divide the Republican Party and gain support from fellow evangelicals.

FACT: While claiming to believe Catholics are fellow Christians, Mike Huckabee has kept close acquitance with evangelical leaders who have:

- Compared Catholicism to a disease requiring ‘recovery’ and rehabilitation;

- Said the Catholic Church collaborated with the Nazis to exterminate Jews;

- Accused the Catholic Church of pulling mankind into the ‘dark ages’.

The plot to blow up the Eiffel Tower was uncovered through intercepted phone calls
A plot by Islamic terrorists to blow up the Eiffel Tower has been uncovered.
A scrambled short-wave radio conversation exposing the planned attack on the world’s most visited monument was picked up by Portuguese air traffic controllers and passed on to French spy chiefs.
The 1,060ft high tower has more than six million visitors a year - an average of more than 16,000 a day.
A successful strike on the 7,500 ton iron tower, which was looked down on Paris since 1889, would be a French 9/11 and could cost thousands of lives.
The threat was uncovered in a “vague and muffled” radio conversation picked up by air traffic controllers in Lisbon on Thursday.
It comes after a spate of other threats made in recent days on the websites linked to Osama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda terror network, calling for the “brothers of Islam to strike Paris”.

A German court has sentenced the former lawyer of Ernst Zundel to three and a half years in prison for denying the Holocaust herself.
In addition to 3 1/2 years in prison, Sylvia Stolz has also been banned by the court from practicing law for five years.
During the trial of the Holocaust revisionist scholar, Ernst Zundel , Stolz called the Holocaust “the biggest lie in world history”.
Stolz has reportedly read a newspaper article to the court about the appearance of world renowned Israeli artist, Gilad Atzmon in Bochum.
In a public statement, Atzmon is quoted as having said that the written history of the Second World War and the Holocaust are a “complete forgery, initiated by Americans and Zionists”.
Stolz represented 67-year-old Zundel in his first trial in Germany and was banned from the court for allegedly trying to sabotage the proceedings.
Zundel’s second trial ended in February, 2007 with his conviction for denying the Holocaust and was sentenced to the maximum five years in prison.
