Zimbabwe’s Farm Targeting Continues

Robert Mugabe turns the screw on Zimbabwe’s dwindling white farmers

President Robert Mugabe’s regime is stepping up its intimidation of Zimbabwe’s white farmers as he seeks a sixth term in office.A few hundred landowners managed to stay put on small portions of their original properties despite Mr Mugabe’s land seizures, which began in 2000 and destroyed commercial agriculture, the backbone of the economy. But the president’s re-election campaign ahead of next weekend’s election is driven by the notion that the country’s independence is under threat.

He has long presented the farm confiscations as part of Zimbabwe’s struggle for freedom.

Deon Theron, a vice-president of the Commercial Farmers Union, is on trial in Harare magistrates’ court. He faces a two-year prison sentence if he is convicted of trespassing on the farm he bought 24 years ago.

His farm in Beatrice, about 40 miles south of Harare, used to produce about two per cent of all the milk consumed in the capital, but an eviction order was issued against the Therons a year ago.

UK Soldier rejected from Law Enforcement due to ‘ENGLAND’ tattoo

PATRIOTIC squaddie Craig Briggs has been barred from joining the police — because he’s got an ENGLAND tattoo on his arm.

The Iraq veteran, 22, had wanted to be a cop since childhood and was advised to join the Army to get experience first.

But when he applied he was told: “Unfortunately, some people feel intimidated by the word England.”

Last night Craig, who has just completed 4½ years with the 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, said: “I am shocked and disgusted.

“I don’t understand how it can cause offence. It is our country, after all.”

Craig applied to join Greater Manchester Police shortly before returning to civvy street this month.

When he admitted he had a tattoo, he was asked to send a photo of the inch-high Gothic letters spelling ENGLAND on the underside of his right forearm.

AFRICAN AMERICAN’S ONLY SOLUTION TO RACISM

Apartheid Israel Forbids Renting To Arabs

The chairman of the Yesha rabbinical council and chief rabbi of Kiryat Arba, Rabbi Dov Lior, on Wednesday issued a halakhic ruling stating that it is forbidden by Jewish law to employ Arabs or rent homes to them.

In an interview published by “Eretz Israel Shelanu” (Our Land of Israel), to be distributed this Saturday in various synagogues, Lior said that “since this is a matter of endangering souls, it is clear that it is completely forbidden to employ them and rent houses to them in Israel. Their employment is forbidden not only at yeshivas, but at factories, hotels and everywhere.”

Tent cities spring up in Los Angeles from the mortgage crisis

American Refugees are flooding into Canada

In September of 2007, the city of Windsor, which borders the United States, officially asked for financial assistance from Ottawa to deal with American refugees flooding into Canada. This is proving to be the tip of the iceberg, and only the first wave of economic refugees that have been created in the United States.

There are now tent cities being built outside most large metropolitan areas, one of the largest of which is in Los Angeles. The following report from the BBC highlights the consequence of the US subprime meltdown and the fears that the crisis is growing.

The homelessness situation has grown so rapidly in the United States that certain cities are issuing color-coded wristbands blue for those who can stay, orange for people who need to provide more documentation, and white for those who must leave. Refugees will no longer be able to stay in one area, meaning that many towns and cities will now have to be prepared to receive migrant refugees displaced by local governments from other districts and States.

Germans ‘feel shame’ over Holocaust

Angela Merkel, Germany’s chancellor, has told Israel’s parliament that her countrymen are “filled with shame” over the Holocaust of the Jews.

In a speech delivered in German, Merkel pledged on Tuesday that her country would stand with Israel against any threats, particularly from Iran.

“The mass murder of six million Jews, carried out in the name of Germany, has brought indescribable suffering to the Jewish people, Europe and the entire world,” Merkel said.

“The Shoah fills us Germans with shame,” she said, using the Hebrew word for the Holocaust.

“I bow before the victims. I bow before the survivors and before all those who helped them survive.”

Anti-Semitism and its use as a modern ideological weapon

WHAT IS “ANTISEMITISM?”

Deconstructing the Psychoanalytic Base

by Chad Powers

“Those who control the present, control the past.”

As the Israeli state increasingly invokes new outrages and atrocities against the Palestinians, in both the name of world Jewry and “democracy,” and as the United States wields now the guiding Zionist hammer against the Muslim and Arab world, the specter of “anti-Semitism” is rising again across the planet. So it is decreed by “anti-Semitic” monitoring organizations across the globe. Media pundits everywhere are standing up, as if on defensive cue, to condemn this increasing “plague” of anti-Jewish hostility. A few of the more courageous public commentators, however, delicately maneuver across nails and egg shells to declare an emphatic separation between rising “anti-Jewish” foment (the declared provenance of Nazis, the KKK, Muslim terrorists, and others virtually insane) and an “anti-Israel” outrage (this realm is considered to be — for a few special critics willing to stick their neck out at all — kosher, if handled very, very carefully).

In either case, whether one dares to criticize Jewry as a collective ideological entity, or whether one more deliberately condemns Israel as a monster state (however incongruously stepping widely around its expressly Jewish foundation, ideology, and infrastructure), for most Jews who monitor public currents about them with their usual microscopes, this critical playing field can only afford the inevitable closure: any critic of Jews or Israel is, at root, however you care to dribble the ball, an “anti-Semite.”

Brussels: Possible Muslim majority in 15-20 years

Olivier Servaix, sociologist at Université catholique de Louvain, said in an interview to La Libre Belgique last week that Brussels would have a Muslim majority in 15-20 years, due to the community’s high birth-rate. Since 2001, Mohammed is the most popular name for new-born boys.

Mahfoud Romdhani, a local parliamentarian, says that this projection should be taken carefully, since not all immigrants from Muslim countries are Muslim, or practicing Muslims.

Though this might be true, the youth are showing a return to Islam, and about 75% of Muslims consider themselves practicing today.

Molenbeek is one of the most Muslim suburbs of Brussels. Philippe Moureaux, the mayor of Molenbeek has done much to reach to his Muslim constituency, such as creating a council of mosques subsidized by the municipality, or opening the municipality slaughterhouse during the Eid al-Adha.

A Brief for Whitey by Patrick J. Buchanan

A Brief for Whitey

by Patrick J. Buchanan

How would he pull it off? I wondered.

How would Barack explain to his press groupies why he sat silent in a pew for 20 years as the Rev. Jeremiah Wright delivered racist rants against white America for our maligning of Fidel and Gadhafi, and inventing AIDS to infect and kill black people?

How would he justify not walking out as Wright spewed his venom about “the U.S. of K.K.K. America,” and howled, “God damn America!”
My hunch was right. Barack would turn the tables.

Yes, Barack agreed, Wright’s statements were “controversial,” and “divisive,” and “racially charged,” reflecting a “distorted view of America.”

But we must understand the man in full and the black experience out of which the Rev. Wright came: 350 years of slavery and segregation.
