I am on record for outrage over Israeli actions against Palestinians and have payed dearly at the hands of Zionist would-be-censors. I have fought the neocons for several years now. But you should not forget that some of them stuck by Romanian freedom (like Brutus Coste’s Jewish American co-author) while most Americans were enchanted with Ceaucescu– even Nixon told me that in his opinion Ceausescu was the best statesman in the 20th Century. I plead limits on my knowledge the connection you aledge in this piece. But I think you should keep in mind that the same proportion of Jews voted for Obama as the proportion of blacks, so you don’t seem to have a giant cabal. Zionism comes in all sorts of shades and the great majority of Jews are as American as apple pie. For many, Israel is as important to them as Romania is to many of you….but they are equally American as you. Thier affection for Israel does not make them a Fifth Column in the US, though indeed SOME are, most are NOT. So what is it that you so despise: is it the wealth that some have? Fine, then look at the many that lived the the Jewish Ethic in modest income– the base of the Christian Ethic– and apply it in their lives every day in cooperation with their fellow American Christians. Many Jews contribute to “Jewish” charity organizations and institutions. I have been up close to these since coming to America and never once saw any sign of discrimination in the help they give. So, though “Jewish” in name, their charity is “American” in character. It is not my place to tell you what to think nor am I in a position to challenge your stories. But I only urge you to be fair in your “facts” and avoid simplicity, as things in reality are far, far more complex than they seem. I will defend to my last breath your freedom of speech from anti-democratic propaganda forces like Abe Foxman and his ADL. But I ask you not to be like the neocons, laying down the ideology and then making the facts fit it. The concequences, as we have seen, are a lot of bloodshed and suffering for all. Personally, I have known Jewish power and Zionist elements of all stripes and conclude after decades of research that the old saying always holds: put 6 Jews in a room and you get endless debate over 7 opinions. That tells you how little chance there is for a conspiracy by a large cabal. The neocons may fit your description, I admit, but they were a small entity of ex-commies that were conspiratorial from their youth as a way to seem like “mensch.” But they were only influence peddlers for pay, not leaders. There is a lot of good writing that exposed and neutralized them– much of it by Jewish academics. Please don’t lose your human cognitive abilities in oversimplified promotion of scapegoating. Our planet went through that in the last century and no one benifited. I was raised all through the refuge decade by Jews who survived a double-Holocaust– Hitler’s and Stalin’s. These people died as loyal Romanian anti-Communists, dedicated to human kindness, freedom and truth. If you get your way, if they were still alive now, they would fall victim to the campaign you are promoting. I DO NOT FAVOR SILENCE FORCED ON YOU–*YOUR* FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS AS IMPORTANT AS ANYONE ELSE’S, INCLUDING MR. FOXMAN’S– I ONLY RECOMMEND THAT YOUR ISSUE BE TESTED IN *MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE* AND RESPONSIBLE DEBATE, THE ONLY WAY SINCE SOCRATES OF TESTING THE VERCITY OF CLAIMS.
