China soon to overtake US economy

As George Bush goes to war of words with Russia over Georgia, protects Israeli interests (Iraq War) and failing to stop Mexican Illegal Immigration, the US economy is soon to be overtaken by China…

Here’s a stat to get the old ticker pumping first thing in the morning:

Past 25 Year Growth Rates:

China: 8%+
U.S.     3%

on an inflation-adjusted average annual rate

Does that place a recent meme circulating on Wall Street (particularly from right-leaning economists) that the increase in Oil prices is due to “speculators” into some context?

Understanding this trend is far from academic, with an impact likely to shake up businesses and governments and today’s U.S.-driven world order. Having the world’s largest economy will give China a greater say in global affairs. Its currency, which is now pegged to the U.S. dollar, will join the yen and the euro as globally traded currencies and in doing so will erode the dollar’s position as the world’s default coin of choice. China’s military, which has enjoyed double-digit budget increases for much of the past 15 years, is likely to grow larger, bolstered by the huge economy.

The Central Intelligence Agency, for one, is taking note. A research arm, the National Intelligence Council, issued a report last month likening China’s emergence and its impact on the world to that of the U.S. in the last century and Germany in the 19th. The report says that by 2020 the world’s geopolitical center of gravity will tilt toward Asia, especially China, the economy of which will have surpassed Japan’s to become second only to that of the U.S.

Neocon Crybabies

Although the unfolding drama in the Caucasus has been a tragedy for its innocent victims, the response by America’s political and media elites has been an entertaining and delusional farce.

To recap events, the government of the former Soviet Republic of Georgia launched a surprise invasion of South Ossetia (an autonomous republic within Georgia that has been functionally independent since the break-up of the Soviet Union). On the night of August 8, the Georgian military – armed and trained by America and Israel – stormed through South Ossetia and overran the region’s putative capital city (leaving it a smoldering ruin). Thousands of Ossetian refugees poured northward to Russia, bringing harrowing tales of Georgian brutality. As the Georgian army swept through the countryside, they encountered groups of Russian peacekeepers, who had been stationed there years ago to monitor a previous ceasefire. Several of those Russian soldiers were killed by the advancing Georgian forces.

As anyone with a remote understanding of Russian history (and human nature) should have been able to predict, the Russians reacted rather badly. Before the Georgians could consolidate their “victory,” the Russians unleashed a devastating counterattack.

Jewish Lowlifeness: former SS grave re-opened to see any Swastika flag inside tomb

Friedhelm Busse former SS soldier, and political activist died at age 79 of cancer. Incredibly:  The district attorney’s office has ordered the grave of the deceased to be opened to make sure there is no Nazi flag inside!  Thomas “Steiner” Wulff had spread the flag on Saturday on the coffin dropped in the grave.  Now he faces criminal charges.

In addition it was the specific wish of the deceased to be buried with such a flag.  As if it was not enough that the German government jailed this war hero they were “nice enough” to send some armed guards to monitor his hospital room, to make sure he did not leave, but they did send his family a bill for the service!

Friedhelm penance had died at the past Tuesday at the age of 79 years.  At the age of 16 years it fought in the SS against the advancing allies.  It was later in different national parties where he became active, among other things a chairperson for the later forbidden FAP.  approximately 100 nationalists came to the funeral on Saturday.  Eleven of them subsequently were arrested, under that also Thomas “Steiner” Wulff, because of the spread flag.

As US economy is near bankrupty, Congress gives even more money to Israel

The US Congress has approved a 170 million dollar increase in security assistance to Israel as part of its new 10-year, 30 billion dollar defense aid commitment to the Jewish state.

The money for Israel was part of a larger supplemental spending bill that included 162 billion dollars for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The legislation gained final approval in a 92-6 Senate vote late Thursday.

America’s pro-Israel lobby, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, welcomed the congressional action, saying it would increase US aid to Israel to 2.55 billion dollars in fiscal year 2009, up from 2.38 billion dollars this year.

“The US commitment to maintaining Israel’s qualitative military edge is the cornerstone of American policy in the region,” AIPAC said in a statement Friday.

“This year’s package holds heightened significance for US security interests, as the US and Israel face new challenges from Iran’s drive to acquire nuclear weapons as well as the growing influence of radical anti-western forces to Israel’s south in Gaza and to the north in Lebanon.”

Wife of Obama wants gays in US military

The wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama told  a crowd of homosexual activists last week that her husband wants to repeal the  Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and reverse the rule on homosexuals in the  military. Michelle Obama also drew parallels with homosexual advocacy groups and  the civil rights movement, referring to events “from Selma to Stonewall.”

Speaking to the Democratic National Committee’s Gay and Lesbian Leadership  Committee last Thursday in New York City, Michelle Obama said her husband  supports “a world where federal laws don’t discriminate against same-sex  relationships, including equal treatment for any relationship recognized under  state law.”

“That is why he supports robust civil unions,” she said. “That is why he has  said the federal government should not stand in the way of states that want to  decide for themselves how best to pursue equality for gay and lesbian couples –  whether that means a domestic partnership, a civil union or a civil marriage.”

Multicultural Justice for Blacks: No jail for Lam Kuoth over unprotected HIV sex

AN HIV-positive man who had unprotected sex with a young woman is expected to be released on a wholly suspended jail term and community-based order.

The prosecution has accepted this would be an appropriate sentence for Lam Kuoth, and yesterday County Court judge Paul Lacava said he agreed “in principle”.

But he ordered a pre-sentence report, saying “I am most anxious to ensure the community’s protection if there was any release.”

Kuoth, 29, formerly of the Geelong suburb of Norlane, knew he was HIV-positive when he had sex with the unwitting woman last year. She was not infected.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of recklessly endangering a person.

South African Government importing workers from Tunisia and Cuba to replace whites

The government is importing hundreds of Cuban engineers and architects, in addition to doctors from Cuba and Tunisia.

One can only despair at the Byzantine machinations of the government. Shortages of skills approach 48% in some departments, leading to a deterioration in essential services to citizens of the country.

However, the government is on record as stating that meeting race quotas is more important than solving the skills crisis, with Eskom a classic example of this.

What conclusions can one draw from the importation of these skills? Will the Cubans and Tunisians be classed as blacks to fill the vacancies created by the cleansing of white skills and thereby fulfil the government’s demographic master plan?

If this is the case, may we then assume that imported Cubans and Tunisians are more desirable than native-born white South Africans?

To name a street in the heart of Durban North after Fidel Castro is a sad affirmation of this fact and intrinsic to the jeering triumphalism of the ANC.

Democracy in Negro Ruled Zimbabwe: Robert Mugabe’s militia burn opponent’s wife alive

The men who pulled up in three white pickup trucks were looking for Patson Chipiro, head of the Zimbabwean opposition party in Mhondoro district. His wife, Dadirai, told them he was in Harare but would be back later in the day, and the men departed.

An hour later they were back. They grabbed Mrs Chipiro and chopped off one of her hands and both her feet. Then they threw her into her hut, locked the door and threw a petrol bomb through the window.

The killing last Friday – one of the most grotesque atrocities committed by Robert Mugabe’s regime since independence in 1980 – was carried out on a wave of worsening brutality before the run-off presidential elections in just over two weeks. It echoed the activities of Foday Sankoh, the rebel leader in the Sierra Leone civil war that ended in 2002, whose trade-mark was to chop off hands and feet.

Sweden : ‘Forcing municipalities to accept refugees’

Municipalities in Sweden should be required to accept refugees, a government inquiry has concluded.

Next week the results of a state commission will be presented which suggest that all municipalities should be forced to take in refugees, reports the Dagens Samhälle newspaper.

Last year county administrative boards took over responsibility for managing the receiving of refugees. Since then, the boards have begun a dialogue with municipalities on how many refugees every municipality should accept.

But if a municipality refuses, the process now grinds to a halt.

Italy condemned for ‘racism wave’ by Amnesty International

Human rights group Amnesty International has said it is extremely alarmed by what it calls a “climate of discrimination” in Italy.

The Italian section of the rights body said recent tough new immigration measures were a worrying trend.

It added that politicians from both sides of the spectrum were legitimising the use of racist language.

Last week, Italy’s new centre-right government introduced a series of measures aimed at improving security.

Illegal immigration will become punishable by up to four years in prison, it will be easier to expel illegal immigrants and there will be a three-year prison sentence for using minors to beg for money.

Attacks on Roma

But the head of Amnesty International in Italy, Daniela Carboni, said the moves represented “heavy restrictions and new crimes that will target, above all, immigrants”.

Hip Hop music fuelling violence in Britain

HIP HOP music is fuelling gun and knife crime in Britain, says music star Tricky.

He says some parts of the United Kingdom are now worse than New York’s notorious Bronx district.

“I love hip hop. But it has to take some responsibility for the gun culture we’ve got over here. We’re getting super-violent,” the Press Association reported Tricky, whose real name in Adrian Thaws, telling Uncut music magazine.

“You can walk around the Bronx for days on end and nobody bothers you.

“In England, you can say the wrong thing in a pub and, before you know it, you’ve got a bottle over your head or a bullet in your brain. English people have got quicker tempers.”

Tricky, 40, says modern fashion also has contributed to violence among young people.

“What have they got to get them through hard times? We had punk rock and ska and bands that made you feel you could do anything,” said the musician, singer and producer.

Outsourcing may cost Australia 1 million jobs

THE service sector is at risk of losing more than one million jobs during the next two decades as a result of big business outsourcing work overseas, a union report predicts.

One in 10 service jobs could be sent offshore, the report prepared for the Service Unions of Australia reveals today.

The service sector accounts for four out of five jobs and 80 per cent of economic activity in Australia and includes banking, insurance and finance, telecommunications, media and retail, as well as government services such as education, health and welfare.

“A worst case scenario could see Australia losing 1000 of these jobs every week offshore over the next 20 years,” Finance Sector Union national secretary Leon Carter said today. That could lead to a loss of 1.04 million service jobs during that time.

Just over 10.7 million Australians are currently employed in the labour market.

Barroso: ‘Islam now part of Europe’

BRUSSELS , May 5: The President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, underlined here Monday that Islam is part and parcel of Europe and he also condemned the concept of clash of civilisations.

“Islam today is part of Europe. It is important to understand this. One should not see Islam as outside Europe. We already have an important presence of Islam and Muslims among our citizens,” Barroso told a press conference this afternoon after an informal dialogue between EU leaders and around twenty high-level representatives of Christianity, Judaism and Islam in Europe.

“We can be a European citizen being a Christian, being Jewish or Muslim or having no religion,” he noted.

On his part, the Grand Mufti of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dr.Mustafa Ceric, said Islam is indeed part of Europe but unfortunately Turkey is not yet part of Europe.

“Following this logic Europe has to prove that Islam is part of Europe by not delaying the acceptance of Turkey to the EU,” Ceric told the joint press conference.
